Locating in New  Orleans, Louisiana, the Company began in May, 1981 as the distributor of Carl Zeiss surgical microscopes and products for the states of Louisiana and  Mississippi.

In 1986 Arkansas was added to the territory and in 1990 Tennessee and Alabama. Finally, in 2001,  Western Missouri, Southern Illinois and Southwest Kentucky were added to complete our current territorial structure for the Carl Zeiss product mix which consist primarily of surgical microscopes and Prism Loupes.

In 1987 the  Company expanded its focus to include a surgeon-directed Surgical Specialties (SS) (single-use products) Division which includes Minimally Invasive Surgery  (MIS)/Endoscopic products.

The company's  affiliation with Carl Zeiss microscopes has positioned the company as microsurgery specialists. All disciplines including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, E.N.T., Ophthalmology, Neuro Sugery OB/GYN and Dentistry are part of  the Flanagan customer base.

The Company has, during its expanding history, continued to provide the finest surgical products  and sales support in the Southeastern region of the United States.
